Victoria Miro, London is to participate in Art Dubai for the fourth time with a presentation of works by British sculptor Conrad Shawcross and Indian artist NS Harsha.
Victoria Miro will return to Art Dubai for the fourth time with a presentation of sculptures in steel, cast bronze and aluminum by London-based sculptor Conrad Shawcross and series of recent paintings by Indian artist NS Harsha. Shawcross’ body of work focusses on two lines of enquiry: the on-going explorations of the four-sided tetrahedron as a tessellating form in his Paradigm series, and the dynamic visual potential of harmonics in his Manifold works. Installed on raised plinths, the works bear relationships to both architecture and the body, and elicit a subtle line between structure and nature, the metaphysical and the molecular.
The gallery will also present as series of Indian artist NS Harsha’s most recent paintings. Each canvas features variations on the motif of a particular human, animal or hybrid figure engaged in a singular activity, which may involve physical elevation, technological innovation or spiritual transcendence. These figures are striving to reach something above or beyond, acknowledging and attempting to connect with unknown regions.
Also available to view will be recent paintings and photographs by Idris Khan.
