Confessions of love and desire are crystallised in the gazes of Del Kathryn Barton's figures, now on view in a solo exhibition titled the women who fell to earth at Sydney's Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery.
With references drawn from various sources, including mythology and folklore, the artist traverses different visual representations of femininity.
The two-time Archibald Prize-winning artist is based in Sydney, where she studied at UNSW Art & Design at the University of New South Wales.
Barton's psychedelic portraits have been exhibited widely, with a major survey of her work held by the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne between 2017 and 2018.
