We are fascinated by these works on paper by Donna Huddleston.

Trained in set design, Huddleston's whimsical and somewhat cinematic coloured pencil works can be seen as visual embodiments of theatre's ephemerality. Her figures and objects almost seem transparent, broken up by motifs including flowers and piano keys, which are so sharply rendered that they appear almost sculptural.

With a colour palette that brings to mind the tones of Luc Tuymans' paintings and the theatricality of Kai Althoff's illustrations, this is a great collection of works for her inaugural show at Simon Lee Gallery in London, titled In Person.
