Almine Rech Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the ArtReview Asia Xiàn Chǎng section of West Bund Art and Design, which will take place between November 10 and 12, 2017 in Shanghai.
For its first participation in an art fair in mainland China, Almine Rech Gallery will present a new sculpture by American artist Aaron Curry, titled _Cosmic Bather, _2017.
The work of Aaron Curry (b. 1972, San Antonio, Texas) fuses a variety of motifs and sources from Surrealism to Pre-Columbian art, graffiti art to digital image. His totemic sculptures, paintings, works on paper and collages, characterized by a profusion of exuberant colors and shapes, reflect a kind of prism which defines a new form of appropriation and reference-making.
In 2018, Aaron Curry will present a solo exhibition at the newly refurbished Bass Museum of Art, Miami. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
