St John kneeling before Christ and twenty-four elders, 2019
painting, edition This is a unique work 61.4 x 50.4 x 3.9 inches 155.96 x 128.02 x 9.91 cm 156 x 128 x 10 cm (incl frame) 61 7/16 x 50 3/8 x 3 15/16 inches (incl frame) The artwork is signed by the artist When facing Dürer's 'Apocalypse' series, Kyung Mi Lee as 'professional' still felt desperately that he was a Panofsky humanistic human, and she has said that Dürer's research began soon after. Kyung Mi Lee's series contains research and homage to Albrecht Dürer's series of woodblock prints 'Apocalypse,' which she encountered at the Darmstadt Museum during her life in Germany. The enlarged screen of Dürer's apocalypse and the several layers of floating elements form the outer frame also represent her dedication to Dürer, who existed in an absolute position in the past. Dürer's woodblock prints are enlarged and reproduced on the screen, and fragments of collected images are mixed in and expressed on the screen in the artist's unique formative method. Dürer's passion for dreaming of an ideal world of truth is similar to the artist's labor of constructing a solid screen as if showing the essence of the technique.Courtesy Art Delight Gallery.
