'I look for repressed personality types in objects. The weathered, the repaired, the restored, the salvaged, the fresh, the applied, the new, the formed, the abandoned, the found, anything that calls to the effect placed on an object indicating who is using has used who made for what when how. How the intentions behind that object may also involve a subconscious desire within. Douglas Rieger (b. 1984, Pittsburgh PA) lives and works in New York, NY. He received his MFA from Yale in 2016 and BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008.
