RongRong and Inri met in 1999 and the two were married the following year. Unbelievably, the two artists did not speak the same language for nearly two years when they were first wed. RongRong and Inri now live with their three children in Beijing.

Their art is a discernment of nature and a perfect symbiosis. As Julie Walsh, the director of Walsh Gallery, postures: "This was not the Hallmark version of love, but rather something tangibly more raw and pure. This was clearly the type of love that makes people do foolish things just because they are no longer alone and are finally understood."

In June 2007, RongRong and Inri founded Three Shadows Photography Art Centre, the first Chinese art space dedicated solely to photography and video art. Renowned artist and architect Ai Weiwei designed the 4,600 square meter space, which is situated in the CaoChangdi art district in Beijing.
