Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel Artists
Representing a diverse and ample selection of artists, the Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel roster includes more than 40 established, emerging and international names.
Brazilian artists, young and established, are at the core of the gallery’s programme. This includes widely known sculptor Ernesto Neto, whose organic installations comprised of fabrics and found objects occupy galleries and public spaces across the globe; and the influential figure of the Geração 80, Leda Catunda, who paints on unconventional soft materials; as well as the experimental filmmaking duo Bárbara Wagner & Benjamin de Burca.
Expanding the local art scene, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel also represents a wide range of artists from around the world, including celebrated American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe; Danish artist Sergej Jensen, known for his sparse paintings on combined textiles; and Mexican conceptualist Damián Ortega, whose work dissects familiar objects.
Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel Exhibitions and Art Fairs
With an average of 10 exhibitions a year across its locations, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel presents solo shows that encourage ambitious innovations by its artists and dynamically curated group shows.
The gallery's group exhibitions have dwelled on subjects as diverse as music and social media, specifically the concept of Throwback Thursdays. Curators and artists are often invited to run group shows; this extends to gallery artists, for instance Erika Verzutti organised The Third Hand.
