Paul Snell explores the possibilities of abstraction in photomedia. For Chromophilia
, he rhythmically repeats, pairs, overlaps and sequences visual data to create luminous abstractions in uncountable varieties of colours. The smooth plexiglas surface of each object gives a screen-like illusion of depth and distance, and as Snell explains, “invites the viewer into a space of inner contemplation and transcendence.” Chromophilia
is Snell's third exhibition with the gallery.
