We are pleased to announce our participation for the very first time, in this year's edition of ART 021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair showcasing a range of works by artists including Guzel Zakirova, Hailun Ma, and Hua Wang.
Guzel Zakirova is Almaty-based Uyghur artist.Shegraduated from the Academy of Arts of Abai Kazakh Pedagogical University and later studied Chinese painting at the Xinjiang Academy of Arts. She uses her visual language to reveal the image of the Uyghur women,her works have significant cultural characteristics. She consciously presents regional customs and historical aesthetics in her unique visual art form, giving her works of art a distinctive humanistic core.
Hailun Ma was born and raised in Xinjiang. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Professional Studies in Fashion Photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York.After returning to China from New York in 2018, Helen Ma turned her attention to the ordinary people of her hometown and creatively integrated her New York experience and professional fashion photography background.she is one of the most influential emerging photographers in China among the new generation. Her creative works open a new window for the viewers to approach Xinjiang and help them understand this region in a new perspective.
Hua Wang was also born in Xinjiang, Her experimental practice can be seen as a ceramics testing ground as well as a conceptual laboratory that investigates diverse personal, social and political themes. Hua specializes in using different media to address philosophical issues of interest to her, such as aggressive consumerism and gender identity, which are inextricably linked to traditional cultural contexts. Hua Wang's installation brings you to a world that is not restricted to a timeline, a world where time frames overlap.
