This May, Hauser & Wirth is honoured to partner with the Wu Dayu Art Foundation in the inaugural JINGART fair in Beijing, China. A pioneer of modernist painting, Wu Dayu's exploration of abstraction was an instinctual and expressive practice that paved the way for the development of Chinese painting. This exciting collaboration positions Wu Dayu against an extraordinary roster of European and American masters from the Hauser & Wirth program, including Hans Arp, Louise Bourgeois, Arshile Gorky, and Philip Guston. Taking inspiration from traditional Chinese art and architecture, the booth's design incorporates elements that bridge East and West with furniture designed by U+.
Vanessa Guo, Senior Director of Asia, and Lihsin Tsai, Senior Director, comment: 'Hauser & Wirth's first gallery space in Asia has just launched, and we are looking forward to continuing expanding our art territory in Asia. We are excited to participate in the very first JINGART fair, and write our new chapter in Beijing, the capital of China. For the past two years, Hauser & Wirth has participated in ART021 in Shanghai, which was founded by the same team and achieved remarkable success. We strongly believe this team will, as always, create an appealing platform for Chinese and Western art exchanges with its unique international positioning and precise vision.'
