Diane, born in Switzerland, is a painter whose work depicts imagined fantasies. The sceneries in her work are rooted in reality and reflect her personal history. Translations of sensory experiences and suspended momentums of the minutiae are visual responses in which remove the viewer from the everyday monotony.

Diane's landscapes reflect into our psyche and questions reality in our world where perception is challenged by our imagination. There is a pictorial language, exploring retention of paint with the use of colour, tactile gesture and attention to surface, innovative forms are weighed into the sublime and rhythmic compositions. Beyond this language her imagery relieves meaning, collapsing content into form.
Diane Chappalley has held exhibitions internationally in the UK, Switzerland and Hong Kong. She graduated from her MA at the Slade School of Fine Art in 2017, where she was awarded the Dean's list. Her work has been selected for many prestigious prizes including FBA Futures, Mall Gallery, London, The Marmite Painting Prize, Block 336, London and Highlanes Gallery, Ireland. In 2017, she completed a residency at the Academy of Visual Art, HKBU in Hong Kong and more recently, she received the Alice Bailly Award, Switzerland. Diane's work is held in private collections internationally and is held in public collections including HSBC Art Collection, London, UK and Contemporary Art Collection CHUV, Switzerland.
