Kamakura Gallery is pleased to announce a retrospective exhibition Sekine Nobuo 1942-2019 from November 9th to December 28th.
Sekine Nobuo is known as a representative artist of Mono-ha and died in May this year.
Mono-ha is an artistic phenomenon made from raw materials and objects that appeared around 1970, occupies an important position in Japanese contemporary art history, and its international reputation is still increasing. Sekine Nobuo was selected as the representative of the 35th Venice Biennale in 1970 after making a shocking debut at the 'Phase-Mother Earth' at Kobe Suma Rikyu Park in 1968.
In recent years, solo exhibitions were held in 2012 and 2014 at the Blum & Poe in the United States, expanding the field of activity both in Japan and overseas.
