Haegue Yang (b. 1971, Korea) received her B.F.A. from Seoul National University, Fine Arts College in 1994 and her Meisterschüler from Frankfurt am Main, in 1999. She combines domestic and industrial materials with sensory effects such as light and sound, to render them into installations and performative abstractions. Her works are simultaneously conceptual and sensorial, ambivalent yet revelatory, operating in the realms of politics, history, and culture.
