Los Angeles–Lévy Gorvy is thrilled to return for its second year to Frieze Los Angeles with an exceptional selection of postwar and contemporary art. Highlighting the gallery’s program, our presentation is inspired by the energy of Los Angeles. Our booth debuts Early Summer (2019), a new painting by Tu Hongtao. Newly represented by Lévy Gorvy, Tu’s gestural expressions of landscape and abstraction will be featured in solo exhibitions this year at our galleries in Hong Kong and London. Two paintings from 2020 represent the eclectic and incisive practice of Jutta Koether, whose exhibition opens this month at Lévy Gorvy in New York. Also included is a seminal painting from 1960 by Pierre Soulages, whose centennial year is now being celebrated with a solo survey exhibition at the Musée du Louvre, Paris. Pastels by Francesco Clemente represent his expressive visions of physical and metaphysical subjects, as explored in the gallery’s exhibition opening this June in Zürich. Additional paintings and sculpture by Terry Adkins, Chung Sang-Hwa, Adrian Piper, Carol Rama, and Pat Steir will be complemented by works of art by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Richard Diebenkorn, Barbara Kruger, Yayoi Kusama, Ed Ruscha, and Amy Sillman.
