Born in 1984 in Inner Mongolia, China, Yu Honglei draws inspirations from the everyday objects that he collected, which bring out and create an array of discursive new possibilities. Yu’s work often conveys a strong narrative that results from making visible the concept of ‘recurrence’ – a daily phenomenon and a way in understanding a revelatory sense that inhibits both life and art. He now lives and works in Beijing.
