Olaf Breuning is a Swiss born, New York based artist. After studying photography, Breuning began working across multiple media including sculpture, video, performance, installation, and drawing, creating works that often reference popular culture and are inherently kitsch in appearance.

Olaf Breuning’s recent exhibitions have included The Life at Metro Pictures, New York (2015); The HOME Trilogy at Metro Pictures, New York (2013); Human Nature at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London (2012); The Art Freaks at Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2011); and Life is a Wheel, Colour Studies at Kodama Gallery, Tokyo/Kyoto (2009). The artist’s work is held in collections at the Kunsthaus Zürich, the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia; the Louisiana Museum, Copenhagen; the Ellipse Foundation, Portugal; and the Collezione La Gaia, Italy, among many others.
