ONE AND J. Gallery is pleased to announce Vary Very a solo exhibition by Seung Yul Oh. Works found in the exhibition seek to temporarily visualize the invisible elements of space by expanding, shrinking, compressing and re-contextualising everyday objects. Repeated attempts are made to measure the flexibility and limits to the volume of air. This exploration is not conducted in a data-driven scientific way but rather to re-examine relationships created by the features as a kind of play between the participants to the work. For example, transparent inflatables that appear to be rigid steel or completely empty blur perception between perceived fact and sense. The artist creates a sensory playground within the exhibition space inviting viewers to create their own relationship and to actively participate. The exhibition runs through September 30th.
