Sculptor Kwon Jin-kyu (1922-1973) is the pioneer of modern sculpture in Korea and known for his elegant works. An exhibition in Seoul sheds light on the late artist who explored the materiality of plaster, rock and bronze and demonstrated the zenith of sculptural elegance.
Late sculptor Kwon Jin-kyu (1922-1973) had held only three solo exhibitions by the time he took his own life at his studio at age 50. Since then, a few dozen more shows have taken place in Korea and Japan to remember one of the greatest and pioneering sculptors in Korea's modern art history.
