In 2015 Robles de Medina was the youngest nominee for the Prix de Rome Visual Arts (Netherlands) and also completed artist residency programs at WOW Amsterdam and CTG: Zimbabwe. In 2016, his drawing, En het donker duurde een volle nacht, earned him a place on the short-list of the Royal Award for Modern Painting (Netherlands). Recent solo exhibitions of his work include, 'If you dream of your tongue, beware' at Catinca Tabacaru Gallery, New York (2017); 'Als het hele lichaam oor zou zijn' (if the whole body were an ear) at Readytex Art Gallery, Suriname (2018); 'The Future Looms Dark and that we can Scarcely' at Barbé Urbain Gallery, Ghent (2018); 'Opportunity Cost' at Praz-Delavallade, Los Angeles (2019); and 'Ți-a ieșit iepurele în cale' (the rabbit got in your way) at Another Mobile Gallery, Bucarest (2020). His first solo exhibition in Paris 'Faya Lobi' opened in February 2020 at galerie Praz-Delavallade, within the same week as his solo exhibition 'Wan Destination Wanhoop', at the SCAD Museum of Art.
