Guglielmo Castelli (b. 1987, Italy) hybrid and subtly violent iconographic universe questions the relation between inner and outer space, between bowels and environment, and somehow overturns the precepts of Italian Renaissance painting, with its strict geometric and rational system. Released from any constraint, figures slip and overlap on either neutral backdrops or unfamiliar landscapes, flowing like lightning flashes, clouds at dusk and wind-torn vegetation. Guglielmo Castelli (b.1987, Turin, Italy) lives and works in Turin. Upcoming exhibitions andprojects include a solo show at Rolando Anselmi (2020, Berlin) a solo exhibition at Museo Ettore Fico (2020, Turin) and a residency at LA Brea Studio (2020, Los Angeles). In 2018, at the end of a one year long residency at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, the institution dedicates a solo exhibition to the artist. After being mentioned in 30Under30 Europe by Forbes Magazine, Guglielmo Castelli had a solo show at Sala Reale, Porta Nuova Station (2017, Turin). His work was featured in several institutional exhibitions including: Biennale Internazionale d'Art Contemporain de Melle (2018, Melle), the Parkview Museum (2018, Singapore), Foundation Louis Vuitton (2018, Paris), Museum Of Contemporary Art of Saint Etienne (2016, Saint Etienne), Pinacoteca Nazionaledi Bologna (2016, Bologna), Museum of Contemporary Art of Lissone (2016, Lissone).
