Reconstruction series is a body of work aimed at the collection-reconstruction of found broken ceramics around the world. Collecting from locations such as Germany, Denmark, England and Japan, Ossandon Recart tries to imagine home experiences that may have not disappeared entirely. The work touches on the themes of memory and while it doesn't pretend to be archaeological, it does seek to be faithful to the past. These scenes represent a past that is not the artists but that partly belong to her as the owner of the pieces.
Soy un temblor de tierra or I am an earthquake series is an expression from the poem Altazor by Chilean poet Vicent Huidobro and refers to the fracture and reconstruction of this work.
This work consists of the collection and reconstruction of Chilean post-earthquake broken crockery, especially reconstructions of broken fragments of the 'Willow Lozapenco' dish, a dish widely used inside Chilean homes between the 1960s and 1990s, where the motif is a landscape that alludes to both Europe and southern Chile. The reworking of the landscape through ink drawing on paper tries to approach the imaginary and experiences that have not disappeared. There is, therefore, a matter of memory, of the fissures and reconstitutions that have marked both the territory and the subjects that inhabit it.
