SETAREH is excited to participate in the 2022 edition of The Armory Show, New York. The Fair will run from September 9–11, with a VIP preview on September 8, 2022. The presentation will include paintings by Gregor Gleiwitz, Astrid Styma, Miron Schmückle, Bea Bonafini, Wolfgang Betke and Jim Thorell as well as unique works by Hans Hartung, Gerárd Schneider, Jean-Michel Atlan and Christian Megert.
At first seemingly abstract, Gregor Gleiwitz paintings reveal recognizable elements such as figures and shapes.
Going beyond traditional painting techniques, Wolfgang Betke's work results in almost sculptural qualities, challenging the medium and reflecting on the art of painting itself.
A more contemporary gaze of the human figure is shown by the emerging artist Astrid Styma, the smooth, almost fragile, silhouettes in her paintings reveal strength in the three-dimensional sculptural traits of these bodies and the relationships between the human and its surroundings.
Included in the booth presentation are works by Jim Thorell, which are hybrids of wistful, fragmented worlds, neither spatially nor temporally relatable. His visual cosmos allows the viewer's gaze to slowly wander through fluid blocks of color and poetic compositions.
