Cressida Campbell attended the East Sydney Technical College from 1978 to 1979 and travelled to Tokyo the following year, studying at the Yoshida Hanga Academy. Since 1985 she has been the recipient of a number of awards, including the Mornington Peninsula Art Award in 1987 and the Mosman Art Prize in 1989.

Campbell was the winner of the Wynne Prize in 1992 and included in the touring survey exhibition, Federation: Australian Art and Society 1901-2000. Campbell’s work is held in the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney.
