TARO NASU is pleased to announce the solo exhibition by Takashi Homma, from 8 March 2018.
The title of the show 'Fugaku' means Mt. Fuji in Japanese and the numbers came from 'Fugaku Sanjyu Rokkei,(thirty-six views of Mt.Fuji in Japanese)', a famous series of woodblock prints by Hokusai, a Japanese ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. The exhibition represents the artist's most recent exploration about the image of the imageries, focusing on one of the most iconic symbols of Japanese culture, as 11 pieces of pinhole photos. The artist gives a twist to the long history of Mt.Fuji's imageries as well as posing a question about 'mythology of uniqueness', to make editions of pinhole photos by digital technology.
