Jake Michael Singer (b.1991, Cape Town) is a South African multidisciplinary artist. He completed his bachelor's at Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town, in 2013, after deepening his learning over the course of 2012 at Central Saint Martins in London.

Singer has been shown in major art fairs globally, held solo shows in Europe, America and Africa, and been part of over 60 group shows since graduating in 2013, and is represented in collections both locally and abroad. Most recently, he was part of Still Here Tomorrow To High Five You Yesterday, a group show at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art, Cape Town, in 2019. During the course of his 6-year career he has been recognised by the Eduardo Villa Foundation Grant in both 2016 and 2017, invited to residencies in Johannesburg (2014) and Amsterdam (2017) and commissioned for a large scale public sculpture situated on top of the iconic W+A building in Johannesburg. The site-specific sculpture, Dawn Chorus, entered the prestigious Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) collection in 2019. It is on permanent public display at the RMB Think Precinct in Johannesburg.
THK Gallery presented a solo show of Singer's works in its Cape Town space in November 2019. His works were selected to travel with THK Gallery to Contemporary Istanbul 2019, AKAA Art Fair 2019 in Paris, and the Cologne Fine Art & Design Fair 2019 in Germany. He was also part of the group show, Between the Lines, in THK Gallery from December 2019 to early February 2020 before being presented at Cape Town Art Fair in 2020.
Jake Michael Singer's monumental installation, And All Birds Flew With a Harsh Scream (Marmara), 2020, is currently part of Materality, the new group show at Iziko South African National Gallery (ISANG) in Cape Town, and will be on exhibition until August 2020.
