Published in conjunction with the celebrated exhibition by the same name, The Art of Dansaekhwa explores the individual and collective narratives of the Dansaekhwa artists, such as Lee Ufan, Park Seo-Bo, Ha Chong-Hyun, Chung Sang-Hwa, and Chung Chang-Sup. Dansaekhwa emerged in a climate of instability and rapid change both in social and political structures in post-war Korea. This catalogue examines the evolution of the movement as it modernised the Korean art scene and rooted itself in the cannon of global post-war art history.
