Read MoreLi Xiaojing is an emerging contemporary Chinese artist, In contrast with the grand narrative of the 1980s artists, her works are micro-focused and closely linked to individual thoughts and feelings. Her work encompasses the universe a thousand times over—heaven, earth, humanity, universal forms, and still lives. The greyish background and lines are placed asymptotically to express the particular detail of daily life. Her diverse compositions do not create strict hierarchy for what is accepted or marginalised. Her paintings create a relationship between ‘painting outside a painting’ and of the ‘voice beyond a painting’. Li Xiaojing conceals the philosophical meditation of the 1980s in the form of personal diary.
Her mainly exhibitions include: The Nominative Exhibition of Undergraduate from Art Academies (2007) in Beijing Today Art Museum, The Third Shanghai Duolun Youth Art Exhibition (2008) in Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art, Lovely Blossoms and Full Moon (2008) in Yuz Museum, Jakarta, Indonesia, Yi Pai – Century Thinking (2009) in Beijing Today Art Museum, Save the Drowning Person 2010 in Beijing Shuimu Art Space, +Follow (2011) in the Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai MoCA, and Pearl Lam Galleries Hong Kong opening group show Chinese Contemporary Abstract, 1980’s Until Present: MINDMAP (2012).
