Li Liao Biography

In Li Liao’s view, he was forced to create so-called art, seeing as he does not have any special talents. He is interested in the ordinary absurdities of reality; his understanding is that every now and then, they will poke you in your life — most usually springing forth without thinking before being refined further.

Graduated from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 2005, Li Liao currently lives and worksin Shenzhen. Li Liao has been nominated in HUGO BOSS Asia Art Award and will be soon shown in Rockbund Art Museum.

Li Liao's selected exhibitions include Things are Beginning to Change in Wuhan (2011), Spring at PARA/SITE Art Space in Hongkong (2012) and ON/OFF: China's Young Artists in Concept & Practice at Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing (2012).
