Sang Nam Lee creates large scale abstract images which call to mind intriguing algorithms. According to the artist: figures, which appear in his works, do not have their origins in nature, but they are creations of the human imagination. Compositions are made up of straight lines, which denote death, and circles representing circles of life. These geometric icons may be reminiscent of a computer generated language, however it is only a seeming impression. The artist creates large scale images with immense mastery. First, he uses a stencil and then he covers the picture with paint multiple times  to achieve impeccable surface. Some perceive in Sang Nam Lee's works a spirit of tradition – a reference to Asian roots. Others see in his works a representations of infinity.
