Read MoreSarah Jérôme operates in her work frictions between seduction and repulsion, astonishment and dread, dream and nightmare, delicacy and brutality. She explores a space between two, two states, two feelings, two moments. There is in all his works an irreducible ambiguity which sensitizes the spectator to a non-Manichean vision of the world, lined on the contrary with gray areas of disturbing attraction. At daybreak or at nightfall, when the soul hesitates between doubt and hope, Sarah Jérôme enjoins us to appreciate the bursts of light lurking in each dark corner. An aesthetic of dissonance that translates into images that are intense and vulnerable at the same time, with a twilight beauty.
