Scott Morrison intertwines video installation and intricate sound design to create new ways of viewing both natural and synthetic environments. These rhythmic and undulating audio visual works combine an interest in the aesthetics of rural landscape, with complex editing that transforms viewer’s temporal and spatial perception of these environments. Live editing and sonic performances are an important part of Morrison’s practice and he has appeared in countless performances both nationally and abroad, with recent inclusion in the MONA FOMA Festival line up for 2012. Morrison’s exhibition history is just as prolific, with his work showing at spaces including the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane (2005), Gertrude Contemporary (2009), Tate Modern, London (2009), Canberra Contemporary Art Space (2007) and West Space, Melbourne (2005, 2012). In 2011, Morrison was awarded an Art Start Grant by the Australia Council for the Arts as well as receiving the coveted 2011 Reg Rowe Scholarship.
