Read MoreBuilding an art collection is about more than just buying art for sale. Discovering artists in the early years of their practice is one of the great joys of building an art collection. It can be incredibly satisfying to support an artist at the start of their career, and go onto follow them as they develop their work over the years. In this selection, in addition to highlighting affordable works by established artists, we highlight artworks by emerging artists who are starting to get some serious attention.
Many of the artists referenced here have been singled out by art institutions in both group and solo exhibitions, and many have shown both in New Zealand and abroad with non-profit spaces, international partner galleries and public museums. All the artists here have been collected by, and included in important private and public collections.
