Stroked, 2012

Motor, iron, photograph
Variable dimensions

In a series of awkwardly constructed machines, Colin Chinnery tests the durability of images, subjecting photos to repeated physical torment as a way of speaking to our current condition of digital saturation. This piece comes from a 2012 exhibition in Shanghai in which artists addressed the human compulsion to make and consume images.

This artwork is the courtesy of the artist and ShanghART Gallery.
