His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will exhibit a new video artwork on public screens in London, Berlin, Melbourne, New York, Milan, and Seoul this month.

The video, entitled The Art of Hope, will play daily at 20:23 local time following its launch at Piccadilly Circus in London on 11 January.

With the video, the spiritual leader of Tibet said, 'I am trying to promote the sense of oneness of 7 billion human beings.'

The work was developed in collaboration with CIRCA in response to the digital art platform's 2023 manifesto, 'Hope: The Art of Reading What Is Not Yet Written'. It includes images of the Dalai Lama along with bold graphics in Prussian blue, scarlet, and gold.

'We must continually consider the oneness of humanity, remembering that we all want to be happy,' the Dalai Lama said. 'Along the way we may be faced with problems, but we must not lose hope. We must keep up our determination without being impatient to achieve quick results.'

Screen prints created for the project are on sale on the CIRCA website for £150 until the end of the year. Funds raised will go towards the Tibet Hope Centre and additional CIRCA commissions, scholarships, donations, and grants.

'We are very happy to collaborate in the promotion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's message of hope in the hearts and minds of people all over the world,' said Damdul Topden, director of the Tibet Hope Centre.

'The proceeds generated from this beautiful #CIRCAECONOMY print will help the Tibet Hope Centre continue in its mission to unite the Tibetan people with those of other backgrounds,' he said.

Artists who collaborated with CIRCA in 2022 include Agnes Denes, Simon Fujiwara, Laure Prouvost, and Yoko Ono. —[O]
