Credited with launching the careers of both Shara Hughes and Hilary Pecis, Rachel Uffner Gallery presents a solo exhibition of another rising star, Elbert Perez.
Brought to our attention by the gallery at Felix Art Fair in February, Perez draws upon the complexities of the human psyche.
Here, a duck (referencing Jean-Baptiste Oudry's The White Duck) is held upside down by the foot with a scrap of paper adorned with a cartoon illustrating the cause of its untimely fate.
The Long Nap can be seen in his solo show at the New York gallery, alongside a number of other oil paintings and sculptures.
