A career-spanning exhibition of works by Jack Pierson continues at Regen Projects, Los Angeles, until 23 October.

Working across sculpture, photography, assemblage and installation, Pierson (b.1960) is most known for his layered and poetic practice that reflects on queer desire in post-AIDS America.

Jack Pierson is the youngest member of the loose group of artists known as The Boston School. Including members such as Gail Thacker, Nan Goldin, and Mark Morrisroe, their distinctive approach is characterised by an instinctive and sometimes disorderly approach to art-making—often embedded in subversive subcultures.

Titled Less and more, Regen Projects' show features three decades of practice, including lesser-known collages, drawings, paintings, and watercolours.

In HypeArt, Shawn Ghassemitari elucidated how 'Pierson's exploration into materials is also a testament to his uncanny ability to imbue even the most mundane objects with tenderness.'
