Kassia Ko graduated in early 1980’s from Hong Kong Polytechnic’s Department of Industrial Design and worked as an electronic product designer and design consultant. In 2008, she completed the Diploma of Chinese Painting at The University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education, and subsequently completed the Master of Fine Arts program in 2013 at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, conferred in conjunction with the Hong Kong Art School. After graduated, she was invited annually by the university to run artist talk to MFA and BA students on her graduation project Ma Wan Landscape: from Distance and Up Close. Currently, Ko is a member of the Chinese Ink Painting Institute (Hong Kong), Hong Kong Chinese Artists’ Association and Hong Kong Modern Ink Painting Society, and a volunteer ink instructor at the Young Artists Development Foundation.

Ko’s graduation thesis Ma Wan Landscape: from Distance and Up Close has been collected by the library of The University of Hong Kong and Asia Art Archive. Her published works include Imprint and IMPRESSION+.
Ko is a full-time artist based in Hong Kong. Her mindscape series “Imprint Series” introduces meticulous techniques to conjure the brightest light and reflection, serving as an analogue time lapse, capturing the passage of time in a modern digital era. In addition with simple color, Minimal Art, forming a poetic calmness and an airy expression of the locale.
