Vanoverberghe's fascination with artefacts, structure, engravings and shelters is vividly captured in a series of black and white photographs made in the vast Moroccan desert. For quite some time now this archaeological approach has been the main theme of his artistic odyssey. The traces manifesting in "Desert Spirals" take on different guises but they are, above all, oozing with human spirit.
