'Colour is everything. Painting only exists in colour. Colour is pure emotion and always in the moment. Space is colour and every colour has its own space. I see the world as a composition of colour stains.' – Anna Leonhardt
Second in Galerie Zink's consecutive series of three exhibitions investigating contemporary abstract painting is Anna Leonhardt (GER). She uses paint as a physical material that she paints onto the canvas, but then dematerialises again through countless layers and continuous removaland sanding of layers. The result is horizontal and vertical stratifications that can be read as landscape and figure, but nevertheless consist of pure waves of coloured light.
Studio in motion is part of the subsequent abstract painting exhibition series Aspects:Aspects I, Klaas Kloosterboer: Sunfloweryellow and other colours, Aspects III, Yusuke Komuta: Unfolding structure.
