Hua Wang was born in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. In 2012, she graduated from Central Saint Martins. After studying and practicing in a porcelain workshop in Jingdezhen for a year, she was admitted by the Royal College of art in London and went to London to continue her study of ceramics, sculpture, and contemporary art. Hua Wang's experimental practice can be seen as a ceramics testing ground as well as a conceptual laboratory that investigates diverse personal, social and political themes. Hua specializes in using different media to address philosophical issues of interest to her, such as aggressive consumerism and gender identity, which are inextricably linked to traditional cultural contexts. She applies all kinds of techniques to materials to respond to conditions where family stories and social events are inextricably interwoven within the autobiographical structure.
