Zhiliang Zhao (b. 1996, Shenzhen, China) received an interdisciplinary B.F.A. from the University of Southern California in 2019 and currently lives and works in Shanghai. Inspired by objects, images, and events in his daily encounter, Zhao's work functions as a resistance to domineering narratives and a sustained desire to carve out a space of belonging. His media span sculpture, ceramics, installation, painting, and photography, and continue to expand.
