Victoria Miro is delighted to present work by Jules de Balincourt, Isaac Julien, Yayoi Kusama, Celia Paul and Adriana Varejão at Art Basel Miami Beach 2015.
The stand will feature dedicated rooms of new work by three of the gallery's prominent female artists: Infinity Net paintings and sculptures by Yayoi Kusama; a presentation by the British painter Celia Paul; and an installation of cracked tile paintings by Brazilian artist Adriana Varejão. Kusama and Paul feature in No Man's Land: Women Artists from the Rubell Family Collection. Kusama's solo exhibition, In Infinity, is at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk, Denmark, until 24 January, then tours to three other Nordic venues. Paul's collaborative exhibition with Hilton Als, desdemona for celia by hilton, at Gallery Met, New York, organised by Dodie Kazanjian on the occasion of The Metropolitan Opera's production of OTELLO, continues until 2 January. Adriana Varejão's major solo exhibition, Kindred Spirits, is at Dallas Contemporary until 20 December.
New York painter Jules de Balincourt has created a new suite of eight paintings to be installed salon-style across a large outer wall of the stand. New photographic work from Isaac Julien's latest series, Stones Against Diamonds, will be shown to coincide with the North American debut of Stones Against Diamonds (Ice Cave).
