Conceptual artist, Micah Lexier is interested in the acts of making, collecting, storing, and organizing. Over the years, Lexier's projects have taken on many forms, including large-scale installations, DIY activity booklets, and jigsaw puzzles. His interest in language and its multiple permutations has inspired the playful work in this exhibition. Scavenger Hunt (The Power Plant) is artist's new work that invites an exploration of our iconic building.
Scavenger Hunt was presented as a part of a in parallel group exhibition in Summer 2023. The show brought together six artists from Tkaronto (Toronto) and surrounding areas in homage to The Power Plant's inaugural exhibition, Toronto: A Play of History (Jeu d'histoire), 1987. The second in a two-part exhibition, this chapter of in parallel focused on language-based practices, as well as an engagement with materiality and technology intended to renew traditional ways of making art.
