Published in 2019 on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at Gagosian, New York, this catalogue features over forty paintings and works on paper made between 1965 and 1984 by Arakawa. Combining words with highly schematic images suggestive of blueprints, the artist constructed systems and signs to highlight and investigate the mechanics of human perception and knowledge. The publication includes an essay by Charles W. Haxthausen, a reproduction of Italo Calvino's 1985 The Arrow in the Mind, and a biography by the Reversible Destiny Foundation.
