Tears appear in various places in Michael Sailstorfer's work. In one video, tears made of lead fall from the sky and demolish an old house until it is razed to the ground; in another, oversized tears made of salt crystal are scattered in an animal park enclosure and during the summer the salt sculptures are licked up by the animals.In his series "Heavy Tears", Sailstorfer uses the metaphor of the tear as an abstract form of a painting.
