This year at Art Basel Miami Beach, Hauser & Wirth is excited to bring a significant sculpture by esteemed American artist David Smith. Zig I (1961) is a formative work of Smith’s Zig series, and among the most significant and highly resolved works of his career. The booth also showcases new, never-before-seen works by Charles Gaines and Amy Sherald–the gallery’s first presentation of the artists since announcing representation earlier this year. Hauser & Wirth also presents a new, large-scale painting by Mark Bradford, and brings major works from the gallery’s roster of estates, including Femme (2004), an impressive tapestry work by Louise Bourgeois, and Shoe Head (1976), a significant late figurative work by Philip Guston. Honouring the achievements of Larry Bell’s solo exhibition at ICA Miami, Hauser & Wirth highlights a fine and rare early painting alongside glass and plexiglass sculptures by the renowned Los Angeles-based artist.
