Suyoung Kim observes and portrays parts of symmetrical composition and repetitive pattern of buildings onto the canvas. The works delicately depicts cityscapes made by skyscrapers we easily encounter through the windows. However, they are changed anew and perceived through the artist’s subtle colors and expression of lights. Also, when placed in its space, the works are not seen flatly, but rather create expansion of new space.
Joongho Yum captures every moment of our mundane lives with his own perspective. He photographs objects or landscapes that we easily overlook, and these are so ordinary and mundane that the viewers may not necessarily be inspired. However, when looked at closely, his works imply new orders and stories. Presented images by the artist approach us in a familiar way, yet new and unfamiliar at the same time, and therefore lead the audience to experience another change of view.
Eunsun Lee continuously searches for the making process of things that are easily forgotten and disappear. The artist’s works introduced in ‘Drift’ exhibition, capture the remnants of lines that result from origami or paper foldings. The different lines created intentionally or coincidentally show the process of papers’ transformation resulting from small movements, and also at the same time, show the moments of those lines’ transformation into three-dimensional spaces.
Soyoung Chung’s formative installation works reflect upon the modern space with broken border between the nature and the artificial, and double sides of its environment. Construction materials such as trees, sand, cement, soil, and pipes break away from their original purposes and are used as another element in the artist’s works. Circula Strata portrays stratas of city in which several horizontal stratas are structured. Mirrors attached under each strata reflect each other and simultaneously bring forth the installation space and the audience into the work. The work and space that involve in this way throws a question at our attitude that acknowledges city space and relationships in our lives.
