P21 is pleased to present Keem Jiyoung’s solo exhibition Scattering Breath which will be on view from 14 October to 19 November 2022. The works are a continuation of the artist’s ‘Glowing Hour’ series, and this presentation is the first time Keem is showing her 69 drawings ‘Drawings for Glowing Hour (2020–2022).’ Beginning with the act of recreating a subject matter, the artist constantly experiments with the notion of how distance is established between a subject and viewer using the medium of painting and drawing. Keem’s narrative style—untainted yet discrete—allows us to revisit a familiar world through the (re)compositions achieved by a montage process of repetition and substitution.
