"For the past few years, my work has been centered on approaching painting not as an inert image, but rather as an event. Whether it be painting or installations, what I seek to live and share is the concrete experience of the present.
Read MoreContinuing with this goal, my current project consists of a series of paintings where I translate my own experience of a place.
First, my walks. Walking is to step without a specific purpose, to step for the sheer pleasure of doing so. Walks are fundamentally purposeless; they are useless; they are inactivities. In wandering, in inactive pauses, a different reality is revealed. This reality is not accessible through any activity, through any action. In wandering, I dig my feet into the earth and find a meditative state."
